Self-Awareness
While "know thyself" is a basic definition, it omits important aspects of true self-awareness. Additionally, self-awareness involves having a career-oriented goal, self-confidence, and helping others achieve goals.
Self-Management
Our internal governance directs our life choices, and is most easily understood as such. A neuroscientist suggests viewing pros and cons as a "team of rivals" arguing against each other.
Social-Awareness
Refers to “being able to empathize with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, understanding social and ethical norms, and recognizing resources and supports available through the family, school, and community.”
Relationship Skills
Relationship building is one of the most powerful skills an individual can possess. Keeping boundaries while responding to other people's needs is crucial when navigating challenging conversations like disagreements and emotional distress.
Decision Making & Goal Setting
There is no separation between these two skills. Through the process of developing long-term plans, students can decide on the path they actually want to take. You must be capable of letting all your decisions shine to accomplish the goals you plan! We need to know the goals and skills of our teammates when collaborating. We hope that students will become aware of different cultural perspectives and be able to adapt to them as needed.
